-The Gulf ‘Oil Spill’ is about more than the oil spill.

Really!!! You CAN Help.

WHY AREN’T GOVERNORS AND MAYORS CALLING FOR VOLUNTEERS TO SAVE THE COASTS? WHY ARE THEY WAITING FOR THE EPA’S BLESSING? WHEN DID WE LOSE THE COMMON SENSE TO SAVE OURSELVES?

Accidents happen. This was a big one. It has bad consequences. Either BP was negligent or it really was an accident. It’ll take more money to get to the truth than it will to clean up the mess – if it ever can be cleaned up. We’ll never know the truth.

All that is self-evident. But there is a larger issue – and I don’t mean offshore drilling. I mean the fact that LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND LOCAL PEOPLE DID NOT FLOCK TO THE BEACH WITH STRAW AND RAKES AND START SAVING THEIR COAST AND THEIR SEA ANIMALS. NOT SOME “ORGANIZATION”; NOT SOME PAID PROFESSIONALS. YOU. ALL OF YOU THAT LIVE NEAR THE COAST!

I know that the Environmental Protection Agency claims dominion over everything including my gallstones. But have we all become so complacent that we abdicate the right to save our own lives? Our own environment? Why didn’t the governors of the affected states mobilize the national guard under their orders and/or get on the TV and radio and ask all citizens to donate some of their time to help prevent the coasts from being ruined for a hundred years? Where were the coastal mayors? Why should these states care about what the EPA thinks? It’s clear to everyone by now that the EPA can’t think. The EPA is not going to arrest 10,000 people who come to clean up their own beach. Spread straw, get it into trucks supplied by the state or donated pickup trucks and take it somewhere where burning it can generate power or something.

My point is not that I have a cleanup answer that has eluded everyone else. It is simply that we have all been dumbed down so much that we think we have to wait for Big Daddy to tell is its ok to save our coasts.

Aren’t any of you tired of government treating us like children that need constant parenting? Even local government, who knows better, caves in to bigger government.

The people of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida knew better. They’ve had to deal with all this before in small ways. But they knew they needed to do something and that waiting for Big Daddy was as useless as it was during Katrina. Don’t we ever learn?

Where is the brass – you know the right word – to JUST DO SOMETHING. The feds cannot arrest everyone. It’s bad press. If the governor and city mayors ask for volunteers to head to clean up operations, the local police and sheriffs and not going arrest anyone. That leaves who? The FBI is suppose arrest tens of thousands of people? It cannot. If the national guard would be already mobilized under control of the governors the feds can’t call on them to round up half the state and arrest them. Arrests are going to look stupid. The feds could arrest the mayors and governors. That’s going to look great on Fox News. The states would move for impeachment the next day. Which they should anyway.

There is a lot more power regionally than the feds want us to believe.

All that is needed is the guts and brains to use it.

The rationale for doing nothing has got to be better than “We’re scared of Big Daddy.”

  1. Hello Jack,

Please read this post http://www.sokule.com/postit/InternetLawNo1 and sign up for the petition and circulate it to everyone you know!

This enzyme is doing the job and it’s totally harmless to humans, animals, the land and the water & biodegrades when it has finished eating the oil. More of this enzyme is available in massive quantities to literally “eat” the oil spill. We just need to get the authorities to buy it and spray this instead of highly toxic Corexit!
